I love Halo as you can tell and this is my blog so I can rant about my fictional writing and experience with Halo 3 and my competitive journey.

The Led Fed Gunman

What once started as an exercise story has now come to my attention as a very promising idea. The idea first came to me when I had watched a few westerns. 3:10 to Yuma, Wyatt Earp, and Open Range. I started writing some short stories a while back and the first one was Bum Day(Which is in my blog on Myspace) and then after watching the movies mentioned I had an urge to write some western stuff. So I did and came up with some random storyline and typed it out. After a while I looked back on it and just started letting the ideas flow which was cool because now it is turning into a neat little story. I hope to post up what I wrote real soon. I just have to put the halo controller down.

Damn that Halo; I’ve played a lot, but damn I noticed my aim and skill is so rusty. Every now and again I get my old feel back but for only a match or 2. oh and i finally bought the new maps so now nothing is stopping me. Can’t wait for ODST to come out and reveal those new maps and get the invitation for the Halo: Reach multiplayer Beta.

My love for the game

I love this game and once I started playing competitively it gave me a new light and something to freakin’ do when I’m not in school.
I have yet to play though because my xbox is getting repaired. Hopefully, it comes in tomorrow like they said it will. Interestingly enough I have been watching a butt-load of videos of MLG Pros ripping at Halo. You know, trying to pick up what they do to stay above the game. I’ve also been reading all the MLG game-type rules and been thinking of some strategies I can use for my team. Doing all this gives me the craving to game soooooo bad. I’m so anxious to finally grasp my controller and work on my game. I am probably terribly rusty. I haven’t played regularly in a very long while. I believe it’s been 2 months and even before that I stayed away from Halo for almost a whole year.
Ok, my history with Halo let’s see… Well the first time I remember hearing about it was when I lived in Austin (1989-2004). My mom had some younger co-workers and they invited her to a few get togethers and my mom would tell me “Oh they play this game called Halo for Xbox. They have LAN parties and it’s really neat.” I was kind of interested, so one day I went with my mom to a party and got to watch them play. I even played but very briefly. I wasn’t too fond of it at first because I was still all wet over Gamecube and all the Nintendo games. I was originally a Nintendo lover. Just a few short years later I moved to Del Rio(2004-present) during my freshman year. I had always heard about this Halo game and didn’t really remember what it was about. It had been a while since I played it especially since I did not have an Xbox. Then, the dawn of Halo 2 came and then I started hearing all this hype for the game. One day I got to play this new game and I liked it a lot. I can’t really remember who I was with but I remembered that I loved the gameplay. So I set on a goal to purchase an xbox. now, this was my sophomore year and i can’t even remember where I got the money for it haha. It was during the winter holidays and I called up an older friend of mine named Mario and he took me to go purchase my xbox. it was a glorious day because I had been waiting since the summer to get one. When I bought the xbox it was very plain and dry. One controller and the xbox, nothing special. I had to then rent Halo 2 which took 2 weeks longer because it was soooo popular. When i finally got the game I played it for like 4 hours straight and it only took me a day and a half to beat the campaign. Then I bought a second controller and my brother was able to play multiplayer with me. The rest of the history afterwards was nothing special until finally one day I had invited some of my friends over to play Halo one evening. You know, to put a LAN party together. somehow I bought booze and we got the games going. It was four o four and we all knew after that night who was good at the game. It was always  Julio, Isaac, me, Adam, Richard, Oscar and other different ppl. In that order too. this became a regular deal for us for a long time. all the way up to my senior year in high school. I wasn’t very good. I had no strategy or tact when I played. I just run and gunned. Then when I graduated I got my friends together and played for a week straight. This was because i was moving to San Antonio so I wanted to spend as much time with them as I could. We played like 7 hours straight and most of us improved so much. When we played Julio that next weekend most of us annihilated him haha. he was soooo surprised; he gets very upset when he looses and all that night he was screaming “That’s bullshit… and fuck that I killed you!” Haha it was soo funny. the next week I moved to San Antonio and as I looked for work I played Xbox live everyday for like 5 hours a day. Things didn’t work out in SA and I returned to Del Rio. I had a couple more Halo nights and man I was kicking butt but then I noticed my friend Sergio was very good as well because he had been playing Live in Corpus Christi. he was my only opponent to fair with. I got to play with my friend Jonathan and at the time put a lot of time in Halo too. When we met up with some other friends to play he and i dominated and my friend Richard was astounded. Soon enough the summer ended I bought an Xbox360 and after a few more months I bought Halo 3 which was a totally different world. I played every now and again with friends but never had internet at my house to play live so I started getting rusty. Soon enough around the beginning of 2008 I completely stopped playing because I was working full-time and i had a g/f who I spent a lot of time with. I hung out with her so much that I really didn’t hang out with my other friends. Hey I loved her… and no it wasn’t that whole fake love. it was real though I bet you’re thinkin’ “Oh well everyone says that” but whatever. I played Halo a couple of times with some friends throughout that year. They were similar to the Halo nights but still were not quite like them. Soon enough I lost my g/f and don’t ask about it. Anyway, I had to catch up with a lot of my friends and didn’t get to play much Halo. When I finally did at my friend Adam’s. I was sooo bad and i noticed his skill increased dramatically. Well it so happened that he bought a 360 and Live since march of 2008 and he played constantly. I was soooo far behind him. It was crazy and he would give me crap for it because I used to be very, very good. At the beginning of 2009 I got an apartment and was able to finally play. I was sooo bad and i noticed that Serg and Adam’s skill had surpassed my own. My conection was sooo horrible at my apartment that it effected my game. I noticed this because when I would go to my mothers house, they finally got Internet, and my shots were more on the money. To make this long story a bit less long, I moved out of my apartment and came home and was short on cash and wasn’t able to renew my account. sooo for the last two months I have been Halo-less and finally my xbox died. It was horrible for me but then I managed to play a couple of times at Jonathan’s and got me back in the spirit.
Now when I my Xbox returns I am going to gain and surpass my previous skill level. I have great plans for my game now since I am going to go full-time college. I will be playing like every freakin’ day so those who want to play just add my tag!
